Volunteering vacancies
Summer 2023 Vacancy
Volunteer opportunity!🍁🦋
A Volunteer opportunity has arisen at Ottery Secret Garden.
We are a small holiday activity provider with outdoors and nature at the centre of everything we do. We are looking for a volunteer to help out for various hours/days during school holidays. In return for your time we can offer a friendly work environment, great experience assisting with art/craft/nature activities, the opportunity to work on planned activities and supervise play with small groups of 4-14 year old children.
Must be over 18 years of age. Happy to welcome a student, parent (possibly with own child), grandparent/retired person.
You need to love children and nature, be prepared to pitch in and get mucky, follow directions, use your initiative and have a happy fun disposition.
We will carry out a full dbs check prior to starting.
There is no salary as this is a voluntary position, however, we will be happy to provide references should you wish to use your experience as a stepping stone to a new career/educational opportunity. There will be a £10 daily expenses payment to cover travel, and meals and breaks will be provided. And plenty of toasted marshmallows too!
Please email [email protected] detailing your experience and telling us why you'd like to join our team as a volunteer. Two independent referees (non family) will need to be provided should you be shortlisted. We are hoping to take on more than one volunteer over the next few months, so there is no closing date for applications.🌳🐛
